On Wednesday, Aug. 23, the New York Lottery announced that a second-prize winning Mega Millions ticket, worth $1 million, was sold at a New Hyde Park convenience store.
The ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms, located at 2201 New Hyde Park Road, and was a part of the Tuesday, Aug. 22 drawing.
Winning numbers for the Mega Millions game are drawn from a field of one to 70, with the Mega Ball being drawn from a separate field of one to 25.
Mega Millions drawings are televised every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.
The New York Lottery has contributed $3.7 billion to help support education in New York state during the fiscal year 2022-2023. It is North America’s largest and most profitable lottery.
